After 51 years the Bing Lee vision is finally a reality! Affectionately called 'Ken's Shed,' the state of the art head office and warehouse are now fully operational. Located in Old Guildford, Sydney, the dream will be completed in November, with the opening of one of Bing Lee's largest retail outlet, which will also house Bing Lee's ducted air conditioning business and then finally the relocation of Bing Lee's clearance store later in the year.
The two storey building will incorporate Bing Lee’s largest store to date, a new warehouse as well as a new head office for over 40 staff on level one.
“The big move really is a testament to my father and the success of the business he and my grandfather built. This is a proud achievement and emotional time for the wider Bing Lee family, as we fondly remember my father, Ken, turning the first soil in 2006,” said Lionel Lee, CEO and eldest son of Ken Lee.
The custom built complex covers an area over three times the size of an average football field! The massive two storey building, currently home to over 40 staff, houses the incredible 8,700 square metre warehouse. As the only Sydney-based electrical provider to operate a centralised warehouse, the new facility will continue to assist deliveries to locations as far away as Canberra, Newcastle and Port Macquarie.
“An incredibly exciting time for Bing Lee, the big move really has been a labour of love. We’re thrilled with the new warehouse and head office and eagerly await the completion of the premises with the opening of our flagship store. The new complex will really allow us to expand on the services offered and will help in surpassing the 1,100 deliveries we currently make every week,” said Peter Braithwaite, Operations Manager.
Located on Woodville Road in Old Guildford, the new premises is proof of Bing Lee’s continued success as a privately owned company and heralds a new era for the future.
